Wow. Yes a great reminder and classic case of what can go wrong. Also amazing that he actually ended up in custody; a rare (but in this case warranted) outcome for commercial espionage. And as a general observation, Monsanto (now Bayer) would be one of the last organizations you'd want to tangle with.
I had to do a double take on the apparent ease of this one reported today. By some reports $1.2b of historically signifcant jewels were stolen by jimmying a windown grille and smashing a window. A substation was also set alight nearby, but thus far it's inconclusive that this was a factor (it shouldn't have been of course). https://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-50545003
I thought that this was an interesting arcticle. It could show what's ahead for how we deal with this sort of problem here in Australia. I could not tell you the number of times over the last decade that I've seen people be told - don't take your work with you....
